Most store-bought ketchup contains high FODMAP ingredients like high fructose corn syrup, garlic, and onions. This easy DIY Low FODMAP Ketchup is the perfect alternative to store bought options. And, best of all, you’ll still feel fabulous after eating it!

Ketchup is a delicious condiment that is often served with potatoes, eggs, burgers, and it makes a perfect base for BBQ sauce or other condiments. But, it’s often filled with additives that don’t make you feel great. This DIY Low FODMAP Ketchup recipe uses a little bit of maple syrup for sweetness and some white wine vinegar that great ketchupy taste you know and love!

What You’ll Need:

1 can organic tomato paste (no garlic, onions, or gluten)

3 tablespoons white vinegar or white balsamic vinegar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon all spice

1 tablespoon dry mustard

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1/4 cup hot water

Salt & Pepper to taste

What You’ll Do:

  • Start by combining all the ingredients (except water) in a sauce pan and stir with a wooden spoon
  • Then, add 1/8-1/4 cup of hot water to the mixture to thin it out—adding it slowly to the mixture until desired consistency is reached
  • Add salt & pepper to taste
  • Cover and let it cool
